When we first looked at this in December (I can send copies of emails if people want them), the costs were Airline ticket round trip $390 Round trip Shuttle from airport $30 Approx Meeting costs for room $34 Single/double occ room $108/night The cost for the meeting were estimated at $1996 for travel and room for 1 person and 1 guest.

Airline costs have gone up about $80-90/ticket. I have reserved a block of rooms but we will need to confirm attendees soon. Also, AA.com is having a caribbean air sale thru Aug 16. I am planning on going down several days early and staying a few days later. There is plenty to do at St. Croix. The meeting site is a short distance from Portland International Airport, thus participants should travel to Portland, OR.

Typically, the meeting begins at 8:30 AM on Thursday. A detailed agenda will be forthcoming. The meeting begins with a brief report from a representative of the CSREES. Thereafter, scientists give brief presentations of their recent work, and each presentation is followed by questions. These presentations conclude on Friday morning. Presentations are arranged relative to specific aims.

After the scientific presentations have concluded, there is often one or more reports by industry representatives. The meeting concludes with a business meeting and adjourns at noon on Friday.
