Dear Colleagues on NCCC-97;

Last year, I agreed to put down thoughts for a potential sponsored symposium of some sort for our next meeting. So, thought Id put my "fat" fingers to the keyboard. What follows (and is attached) are three different symposium themes. I believe our plan was to exchange ideas and refinements by e-mail, then maybe generate some sort of consensus plan at the meeting.

The first two themes are symposia developed with NCCC-97 members intended as speakers. Ive based these on the last few annual reports.

The third theme is just stuff I find interesting, that has some NCR97 history, and that is newly topical again. AND most importantly I came up with a cool title! Following the sessions are some recent citations for possible outside speakers.

For easy reference, Ive also re-attached a document from Mike about other symposia. Looking forward to your insights and thoughts about alternatives, replacements, combinations, etc.

Thanks, Jan
