Brian Nerrie (Virginia State University), Mike Schwarz (Virginia Tech University), and Steve Craig (Virginia Tech University) have graciously offered to host the 2005 meeting of the Southern Extension and Research Activities - Information Exchange Group for Aquaculture (SERA-IEG-9). As has been done in years past, the Southern Regional Aquaculture Center (SRAC)will hold a short meeting immediately following the SERA-IEG-9 meeting.

This year's meeting will be June 5, 6, and 7, 2005 at the Cooperative Extension Building, Virginia State University, Petersburg, VA. The tentative schedule would include travel and evening reception on June 5; SERA-IEG-9 group meetings and pond side retreat on June 6; and SERA-IEG-9 summaries and SRAC meeting early on June 7, followed by a visit to the VT facility in Hampton and a tour of a clam hatchery on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Travel and hotel considerations are currently under negotiation. Additional information will be sent to you at a later date. To review previous SERA-IEG-9 activities, please visit our website at http://www.msstate.edu/dept/tcnwac/Seraieg.htm
